The Association of Business Education held a training on project management and writing of project applications to improve the quality of project management in the field of business education, and ensure their funding. The training was carried in the framework of the project "Improving of the administrative capacity of the Association of Business Education in the development of business education" being a part of the project "Improving of joint initiatives." The project is realized with the support of "Eurasia" by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Different representatives of organizations, namely members of the Association were invited to participate in the program. The trainee was a business coach of MBA “International Management” Sergey Laboda.

On 11-12 November 2015 the first module "Fundamentals of modeling project activities» was realized.

The aim of the module is to familiarize the participants with the basics of modeling project activities based on the knowledge of project cycle management and logical framework approach to planning and implementation of projects.

The content of the module:

  • The modern concept of the project.
  • The Basics of modeling project: project cycle management and logical-structural model of the planning and implementation of the project.
  • Different levels of achievement in the project: the products, changes in the target group, changes in the environment.
  • Monitoring and evaluation of project activities; qualitative and quantitative indicators of achievement.
  • An analysis of the problems and the logical framework of the project.
  • An analysis of the stakeholders (interested parties).
  • The difference between the goals and objectives of the project.
  • Work Plan and the scheduling of project activities, the formation of the project budget; resource management project, the process of monitoring and reporting system.
  • Work in the project team, the project manager function.

On 25-26 November 2015. the second module "From idea to project application» was held.

Among the module objectives were:

  • Developing of the skills of participants in writing project applications, including the budget and action plan, as well as drawing up the plan, and monitoring activities;
  • Informing participants with the practice and assessment tools to design projects (on the basis of a model IMACON) and the system of decision-making on the allocation of funding under the international assistance programs that are available in Belarus;
  • Introducing the requirements of visual presentation of information and support for EU projects.

The content of the module:

  • The main elements of the project application.
  • How does a donor select projects?
  • Practical writing of a project application (working in small groups).
  • An analysis of the situation and the subjects (the general context and solution of problems, stakeholders).
  • The objectives and planned changes (objectives and results, the quality of the planned changes).
